Programs
Below are links to pages describing programs SEW sponsors. You can also view a video about Salvadoran Enterprises for Women.
- Traditional Kitchen

- This mobile kitchen affords a way for the women to market local foods prepared in the traditional manner at weekend fairs, community and school events and other celebrations.
- Solidarity Bakery
- Four groups of three women rotate daily schedules, producing French and sweet breads, rolls and basic breads that are sold locally.
- Sewing Center
- Here women are trained in sewing and tailoring. Because it is a safe place to gather, the center has become a space for women to share common concerns of family and community.
- New Dawn Poultry Farm
- New Dawn markets eggs to families and two restaurants regionally. The business provides eggs at cost to their own community. We also have a page on the inauguration of this project.
- Community Garden
- Women work to provide diversification of crops to improve nutrition. Building the garden required learning about irrigation and a variety of foods.
- Nueva Esperanza
- In the town of La Ceiba, five women make candles and leather goods that are sold both locally and regionally.
- Herbal Medicine
- Trained in the production of natural medicines, these women now provide affordable remedies for common ailments.
- Natural Sweets and Jellies
- Using the rich resources of fruit from their own land, these women make nutritious natural jellies and preservative-free traditional candies.
- Indigo Dyed Clothing
- In the village of San Luis Los Ranchos women produce several patterns of indigo-dyed clothing, which is sold at an outlet for women's goods in San Salvador.
